About the Laboratory of Consumer Psychology

Located between the rugged mountains of Snowdonia and the sandy beaches of Anglesey, you’ll find Bangor University’s Laboratory of Consumer Psychology. Founded in 2000 by Professor Jane Raymond and now nationally renowned, the LCP delivers a range of professional courses, Masters qualifications and consultancy services. If you’re wondering whether to study or work with us, try considering:

The Laboratory of Consumer Psychology has the unique advantage of being embedded in a university setting. This means our team of researchers are actively involved in conducting cutting-edge research, published in some of the most prestigious academic journals including Science, Brain and Cognition, and the Journal of Experimental Psychology. To find out more about the latest psychological, behavioural and neuroscientific insights, take a look at our staff profiles.

Sharing facilities and expertise with Bangor University’s School of Psychology also means clients at the Laboratory of Consumer Psychology can access the most sophisticated  research equipment available. This allows us to better understand and predict human behaviour, using our Philips 3T Achieva MRI scanner, five Electrophysiology (EEG) laboratories, and the Tobii eye-tracking equipment. These can be used to run Neuromarketing projects in-house and our eye-tracking equipment can run studies both in a laboratory setting and in store. Explore what you can achieve with our equipment, by checking out the ‘our toys’ page.

Although all of our researchers are experts in their fields, these academic skills are supported by commercial experience. As well as publishing world-leading research, our team consult for global brands, develop new advertising campaigns, test prototype packaging designs and design new supermarket layouts for household brands across Europe.
