Lecturer in Applied Psychology
Dr Helen Morgan is a Chartered Psychologist, Lecturer in Applied Psychology and Employability Tutor at Bangor University
After completing a PhD in cognitive psychology, she spent several years researching working memory and attention using a combination of neuroscientific methods, such as brain imaging and brain stimulation. Her current research aims to understand how sales promotions and environmental factors can influence consumer decision making.
Helen is module organiser for the Year 1 Research Methods module, which uses lectures and practical sessions to teach students the theory and skills needed to conduct research in psychology. She is also module organiser for the Year 1 Applied Psychology module, which examines how psychological theory can be applied in real-world contexts. In addition, Helen supervises undergraduate honours dissertations within her research specialisms. Alongside her teaching roles, Helen is the Employability Tutor for psychology and is a committee member of the Welsh branch of the British Psychological Society.
